August Break Week One
I’ve signed up for Susannah Conway’s August Break again this year. She comes up with an optional prompt for each day of the month originally, coming up with the idea when she wanted a small break about ten years ago from blogging. Instead, she decided to post a photo every day to her blog for the month of August. This was in the days way before Instagram, although the August Break now it lends itself perfectly to the social media platform. Over the last few years, Susannah has also created an optional Facebook group for the people wanting to create a small online community around the challenge. Here is a list of the prompts that Susannah has suggested for this year.
Cleaning and Clearing Follow Up
There was about two weeks in between my clearing part of my bedroom and the local charity shop coming just over a week ago to pick up all I was donating to them. It ended up being five black bin bags of clothing and bric-a-brac items along with two boxes of books. I had told myself not to clear any more things out until they had been because there was no more room behind the sofa where I was storing my donations to put anything else.
Cleaning and Clearing
I’m someone who seems to need a lot of stuff around me to feel safe and comfortable, but lately, it’s all got a bit out of hand. I had a tough year last year with some work stress going on and this meant my anxiety kicked off so I would surround myself with things and keep items. But then I would get more anxious because my surroundings were cluttered and the belongings I had around me don’t have specific homes, and it would be a slow downward spiral.
I'd Like To Thank ...
I can't remember when I last won something. I remember winning a huge stuffed toy rabbit when I was younger, that thing was almost as tall as me at around four foot I think it was. I won it in a raffle at my Grandma's church.
A couple of months ago at work, the manager told me that he was nominating me for the company's first-ever employee of the Month for our store.
I'm Going On Holiday!
My last holiday was about two years ago to Glasgow with a friend of mine. We stayed in a hotel in the city centre for a couple of days. My previous holiday before that was in about 2006, so this one is long overdue. I'm really quite excited about it!!! I've been talking and thinking about a holiday for a few years but not done much more than a bit of research into hotels and some things to see and do as well as a few places to eat out.
The Blurt Self-Careathon Challenge Is Over
Most of the posts were pre-planned with handwritten notes along with some additional basic points that I wanted to say and which image I wanted to use. Most images were ones I have taken myself, a couple, however, were sourced from Google images. Because I started the challenge late and as I didn't want to feel overstretched to post daily, I would write up a handful of posts on my days off, using my handwritten notes. I would then schedule the posts to go up at 8 am each morning on consecutive days.
Blurt Self Careathon Day 27
It's good to have dreams in our life, something juicy to aim towards and aspire to. To be a published author, to own your own home, to have a family of your own, to own your own business, to become a yoga instructor, to get a certain amount of Instagram followers or on any of your social media platforms, to own a certain car, to live in a certain part of the world, have a certain amount of money in the bank ...
